An expert with more than 12 years of experience in tropical lowland soil management, the researcher works at Embrapa Rice and Beans in Santo Antônio de Goiás. Her research focuses on managing soil and conserving carbon in sustainable agricultural systems. She achieves this through the use of pyrolyzed biomass, green manure, and by studying nitrogen use efficiency. The latter involves using sensors to measure greenhouse gas emissions, a key part of **nitrogen management**.At Embrapa, she is a part of several groups:* The **Carbon Platform Management Group*** The **Local Committee for the Sustainable Development Goals*** The editorial board for the **Tropical Agricultural Research Journal**, UFGShe also participates in the **Goiás State Committee for Low-Carbon and Sustainable Agriculture** and the **Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition Commission of the State of Goiás**.She leads the **C-ArouNd Project**, which focuses on regenerative and soil conservation practices to improve carbon sequestration and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The project includes 12 countries.Additionally, she has worked with technologies for carbon sequestration in integrated agricultural production systems in the Brazilian Cerrado. She also helped to strengthen the macauba production chain in the Northeast using biochar and collaborated on Brazil's Fourth National Communication to the UNFCCC.
